The front row celebrities at Atelier Versace AW2012

It was a beautiful Sunday evening in Paris; the perfect conditions for a celebrity studded haute couture show! There were hoards of familiar and beloved celebrity faces at The Ritz as Donatella Versace introduced her Autumn/Winter 2012 collection to the world - including some of Catwalk Queen's favourite ladies.
Hunger Games actress Elizabeth Banks and Mad Men star Christina Hendricks both appeared in high spirits as they giggled throughout the event, where as Jessica Alba and rapper M.I.A appeared to be deep in conversation as they waited for the couture to saunter down the catwalk. All four ladies watched the soft, almost Spring-like show together, but which celeb was queen of the front row? Let's take a look...

ELIZABETHBANKSVERSACE2012.jpgElizabeth Banks looked radiant in a light grey A-line cocktail dress enriched by silver metallic details. We're used to seeing Elizabeth in bright colours, embellished pieces and fashion forward garments, so this actually looked a little safe compared to other dresses we've seen her in lately. Only Elizabeth could make a keyhole style fish hook dress appear safe! The stunning actress opted to wear her hair up to showcase the shoulder detailing (good move) and kept her makeup fairly simple with a slick of gloss and some cat-eye liner. To finish the look, Elizabeth teamed the gorgeous dress with matching grey heels and a metallic silver clutch.
CHRISTINAHENDRICKSVERSACE2012.jpgOh, Christina Hendricks. We love you but this is just all wrong.
Christina has never been afraid of showcasing her gorgeous curves, but this golden custom-made couture Atelier Versace just looks uncomfortable. The laser cut leather mini dress features gold beading and metallic inserts, and is a beautiful piece by its own merit, but it doesn't suit Christina. I can't help thinking of the "cleavage or legs, but not both" rule; would it have looked better without that black blazer buttoned over her bust? Unfortunately, on this occasion, the lovely Hendricks gets a thumbs down from us. Her makeup is passable, but her hair looks flat and doesn't compliment her look overall. What do you think?
MIAVERSACE2012.jpgUnlike Christina and Elizabeth who opted for dresses, singer M.I.A stuck to her tomboy roots and rocked a vintage Gianni Versace printed outfit consisting of gold printed lycra leggings, gold printed top and a leather jacket. Perched on the front row, M.I.A looks every inch the fashion follower, working print on print and colour blocking in one bold move. This kind of ensemble really works for fearless girls like Rihanna, Jessie J, Katy Perry and obviously, M.I.A. It was also a refreshing change to see a little vintage amongst the sea of new collections.
p.s why do ghetto gold earrings work so well with Versace print?!
JESSICAALBAVERSACE2012.jpgLast but by no means least, is Jessica Alba. In an unexpected turn of events, Jessica was actually my favourite lady of the front row, although Elizabeth put up a very good fight. Wearing a skintight strapless leather cocktail dress sprinkled in black Swarovski crystals, Jessica looked unbelievable. The mother of two somehow managed to look both sexy and demure, softening the tone of the dress with smoky eyes and soft wavy hair. Keeping it simple and chic, Jessica finished off her look with the black version of Elizabeth's Versace heels. Perfection.
